QR code: Missed opportunities

I’ll admit: I rarely use QR codes.  But today I thought I’d try out Flight Centre‘s because it just sounded so… convenient.  I like to travel and I like sales and I like getting notifications by email (yes, I’m old school that way).  One zap and I’d be good to go, right?

Wrong.  I got this screen instead. 


After much scrutiny, I managed to find the tiny “Click here” to sign up on their unoptimized-for-mobile page.  Sign up?  Not mobile-friendly? This doesn’t sound good.


Yup, a mini form, complete with forcing me to provide unnecessary information.  Well, unnecessary for me the user; their marketing department would love all of it I’m sure.  Bye bye eNewsletter and email database.
