- You don’t need to sell the benefits of UX. Instead, you’re planning how to measure the benefits.
- You have support from above and below, internally & externally (if you’re an agency).
- You report into someone’s who’s got your back. They may not understand exactly what you do, but they respect your recommendations and advocate for it.
- You have your own budget to work with: to build the team’s expertise; career development; the right tools & equipment etc.
- Design’s invited to all key meetings, without needing to wrangle for an invite.
- Design’s is expected to contribute to all strategy sessions.
- You’re not required to use the same old tools everytime – you have the freedom to explore new options when it makes sense.
- You’re given opportunities to innovate – whether it’s process, techniques or product or all of the above.
- UX is integrated into the overall development process.
- Marketing understands what UX does, and where there are similarities, affinities and differences.
